Aubrey Bowman died in December 2009 having lived a very busy musical life. Aubrey Bowman,you may be interested in this item.He was an early student of Alan Bush at the Royal Academy of music eventually becoming conductor of the Festival Ballet and the Royal Canadian Ballet. Aubrey wrote many songs, piano music and two string quartets amongst other works. He left a large legacy behind him in the form of many musical items. I promised Aubrey that I would catalogue all this work. After nearly eight years of working on this project, his archive was safely deposited at the Bishopsgate Institute in London. His songs of protest were also deposited in Glasgow University at the Janey Buchan Political Song Collection curated by John Powles.
